Undoubtedly, the name of the
eighteenth arcana has Enochian origins, which can be interpreted as "I
rule over you." Here, the resemblance to the Enochian magical system ends.
The design of the card is entirely from the vision of my collaborator, but its
meaning originates from Amhazar. The card depicts a former human being
transformed into a monstrous form as a result of a magical downfall. We see a
dangerous and powerful non-human under the control of dark forces. His power is
great but illusory. This represents the archetype of magical madness, a soul
merged with the demonic. The card is dominated by dark tones, black, red, and
gray, with occasional white.
In divination, this card
represents the imperative of ruling over a situation or resources. The
alternative is distortion. The card shows malevolence, either in the form of an
enemy or the possibility of your own transformation into a monstrous person. The
enemy desires to fully dominate, exclude, or destroy you, so pay close
attention to those around you. Additionally, this card warns that the querent
themselves may become distorted.
In magical
work with the spirits of this card, keep in mind that they encourage people to
use them as much as possible, as they reward them with certain powers. Of
course, it is unnecessary to emphasize too much how foolish it is to succumb to
their charms, as those who frequently use these services may end up as their
slaves. They grant the power to rule over people or various spirits but
stimulate human appetites and egoism by opening paths for desires and
ambitions. This is a typical Faustian moment, and the spirits of this arcana,
like skilled merchants, constantly tempt practitioners with various enticing
offers, as it is their nature to turn a person into an instrument of their
will. They make a person rule over many things around them, but over time, they
begin to rule over the person. Therefore, it is essential to master yourself,
your feelings, passions, desires, and ambitions sufficiently before approaching
them, so you can resist and occasionally request a service without losing your
freedom. They appear as tall, thin, and pale men without any hair on their
heads, dressed in black clothing or black hooded cloaks. Their words are...(The words are given in the book).
