The mystery of the seventeenth
arcana is expressed through a red geometric rose, with the flower being a
square made up of 49 fields. The origin of the arcana is a vision, but it has
ties to European esotericism. Ten letters of the name Bafomitras relate to the
seven principles symbolized by the rose's mystery. The square stands
diagonally, forming a diamond shape that spans two planes: the upper, dark
plane representing the night sky, and the lower, light plane representing the
earthly realm into which the rose's root is planted. In the corners are
depicted pairs of pentagrams, both upright and reversed. This highlights the
general quadripolarity of elements and forces associated with the corners of
the square. Each pentagram aligns with twelve fields of the large square. The
central field, which is particularly emphasized, corresponds to the fifth
element. In a sense, this represents a symbolic schema of the universe.
In
divination, this card indicates the necessity of having a plan. It can also
signify that you are part of someone else’s plan, that someone is counting on
you, or that you are placed in a role that may not align with your interests.
In any case, it is crucial to have some sort of plan. The card warns against
rushing through life without any plan and emphasizes the need to utilize all
available resources, which includes continuous improvement in discovering and
using all possibilities. In magical work with the spirits of this card, they
are useful for providing guidance in crafting talismans, amulets, creating
objects of power, or enchanting specific places, things, people, or even
animals. They also assist in making certain things, people, or objects become
or remain hidden. If you want to hide, suppress, or remove something from
sight, you would call upon the spirits of this arcana. Finally, they indicate
which places are unfavorable or favorable for certain works and actions. They
do not manifest clearly. Their words are... (The words are given in the book).
