The second arcana represents
adepts. The name and vision for this arcana come from Amhazar, and its origin
points to the occult phenomenon of the Secret Chiefs. The color of the card is
purple with details in shades of gray. The motif of the arcana consists of
seven anonymous adepts covered by hoods with a red cross on their foreheads.
They emerge from a solar projection at an angle of 60 degrees. At the center is
the supreme adept. In front of them hovers a sword that belongs to the
initiate. The sword is a tool born from the imagination of the initiate,
activated through a special ritual. Between the initiate and the adepts, there
is an agreement regarding the safeguarding of the sword, which is entrusted to
the adepts through a specific process and is used exclusively in a prescribed
manner. After the physical death of the initiate, the sword becomes the
property of the adepts. They exist beyond death, while the initiate chooses
mortality in order to gain immortality. The Kabbalistic parallel to this card
is Tipheret, which is the level where the exchange between the initiate and the
adepts takes place.
In divinatory terms, this card indicates an agreement with invisible forces or superior factors. Through it, something is signed, a contract is made, or a vow is taken. Indeed, we receive protection, gain honor, a title, but we cannot escape death. During divination, the appearance of this card also suggests a connection. It is necessary to connect with someone, to form a link, establish an alliance, partnership, seek protection, and the solidarity of a group.
As spirits, adepts always appear together, never individually. When they appear, avoid looking at them; instead, lie on the ground in the position of a cross with your face turned to the floor. Do not move, and show humility and submission before them. You may rise only once you are certain they have departed. Encountering them, especially looking at them, can be fatal for humans, and in the best case, it may result in a complete loss of reason.
